How per-plate catering pricing works in Bangalore
Caterers quote per plate against a guaranteed guest count, and that count — not the menu — is what you are really negotiating. A ₹550 menu for 300 guests costs less to produce per head than the same menu for 80, which is why small functions carry a higher floor. Always confirm three things in writing: whether GST is included, whether service staff and chafing equipment are in the rate, and what the counting rule is if 250 people turn up for a 300-guest booking. Our quotes state all three on the first page.
Choosing the menu for the function
For poojas, naming ceremonies and housewarmings, a traditional South Indian banana-leaf meal at ₹380 lands better than a multi-cuisine buffet and costs half as much. For receptions, guests judge the starters and the dessert counter, so put the budget there and keep the mains tighter. For corporate events, a high-tea format at ₹250 keeps the schedule intact where a full buffet costs you forty minutes of agenda.
Food safety, staffing and timelines
Our kitchen crew is FSSAI-registered and food-safety trained, hot food is held above 65°C in chafing units, and every event has a captain who owns the buffet line. We need 72 hours' notice for standard menus and a week for menus with regional specials or imported ingredients. Final guest count is locked 48 hours before, with a 10% buffer cooked at no extra charge.
Common questions
What is the per-plate cost of catering in Bangalore?
Basic pure-veg starts at ₹320 per plate, Jain at ₹420, South Indian banana-leaf at ₹380, combined veg and non-veg at ₹550, and multi-cuisine signature menus at ₹850. Minimum 50 guests; GST extra.
Is service staff included in the price?
Yes — one server per 30 guests on the basic menu, per 20 on celebration menus, and a captain-led team at one per 15 on signature menus. Chafing equipment and buffet setup are also included.
Do you do Jain and no-onion-no-garlic menus?
Yes, at ₹420 per plate, cooked in a separate section of the kitchen with dedicated utensils.
How much notice do you need for catering?
72 hours for standard menus and one week for regional specials or large weddings. Final guest count is locked 48 hours before the event, with a 10% buffer cooked free.
What happens if fewer guests turn up than booked?
You are billed on the locked count from 48 hours before, and surplus food is packed for you rather than discarded. We put the counting rule in writing before you pay any advance.
Can catering be booked with decor and photography?
Yes — one quote, one invoice and one coordinator. Booking catering with decor or photography takes 15% off the combined quote.
Still deciding how it should look?
Look-by-look guides with price bands, setup timings and the venue rules behind each build.
Everything else the day needs
Booked together, it all lands on one quote, one invoice and one crew on the day.
Want it photographed too?
Decor and photography booked together save 15% on the combined quote — and we build the setup knowing exactly how it needs to light.
