    Stage & backdrop guide

Wedding Stage & Backdrop Decoration Ideas in Bangalore

The stage is the most photographed six square metres of the entire wedding — the varamala, the reception line, every family group photo. This guide covers the stage and backdrop styles we build in Bengaluru mantapas, banquet halls and lawns, what each costs, and the structural details that decide whether it survives the night.

    Structure before styling

A 16 ft flower wall is a sail. Every backdrop we build sits on a bolted truss or pipe frame with counterweights, not on a rented panel leaning against a hall wall. For lawns we add guy-lines and heavier ballast — Bengaluru evening wind in the outskirts is enough to move an unweighted frame.

    Height, gap and camera lines

Three numbers decide whether the stage photographs well: backdrop height (12–14 ft for a hall so the frame is not cut off), the gap between the couple and the wall (at least 3 ft, so faces are not lit flat), and the platform height (18–24 inches, high enough for the back rows and low enough for elders to climb).

    What drives the price

Fresh-flower area, structure size and lighting count. Swapping a full fresh wall for a fabric-and-floral hybrid can cut ₹30,000 without changing how it reads on camera. Ceiling work — hanging installations and drapes — is the single most expensive addition, because it is labour and rigging, not flowers.

One crew for stage and coverage

When FrameFusion covers the wedding as well, the lighting is set for the camera, not just for the eye: no cool tube lights washing the couple, a clean angle for the varamala, and space at the wing for a second shooter. Booking both takes 15% off the decor line.

Decor + photography together saves 15%

FrameFusion is a photography studio first. Book coverage and decor on the same quote and the decor line drops 15% — one crew, one invoice, one point of contact.

Before you approve a stage design

    • Ask for the frame spec, not just the render — truss or pipe, and ballast
    • Confirm backdrop height against the hall's ceiling and any AV screens
    • Keep 3 ft clearance behind the couple for the photographer
    • Match the stage lighting temperature to the room's other lights
    • Check the venue's decor-in and strike windows before locking scope
    • Decide fresh vs hybrid florals early — it moves the price the most

    Common questions

How much does a wedding stage cost in Bangalore?

A fabric-drape stage with uplighting starts at ₹25,000. Fresh flower walls run ₹55,000–₹95,000, traditional mandap stages ₹80,000–₹1,50,000, and a full reception design ₹1,60,000–₹2,50,000.

How long does a wedding stage take to build?

Five to twelve hours depending on scale and rigging. Fresh florals are always fixed last, on the morning of the function, so the wall is at its best when the doors open.

Can you match a reference photo?

Yes, and we will tell you honestly what the same look costs here — most viral reference images are ceiling-rigged builds that need a hall with load points, which changes the quote.

Do you do the photography too?

Yes. Booking wedding coverage with the stage build takes 15% off the decor line and means the lighting is planned for the camera from the start.
