Wedding Day Photography Timeline for Bangalore Weddings
TL;DR: A typical Bangalore wedding photography timeline starts 90 minutes before the muhurtham, allows 45–60 minutes for family portraits after the ceremony, and reserves the 45 minutes before sunset for couple portraits. Getting these three windows right is what separates a relaxed shoot from a rushed one.
Bangalore weddings compress a lot into one morning — pre-dawn muhurthams, back-to-back rituals and family who arrive in waves. This is the timeline we build for every booking, and the buffers that stop it from collapsing.

When should the photography crew arrive?
The crew should arrive 90 minutes before the muhurtham, not 30.
That buffer is used to shoot the untouched decor, the mandap, jewellery and invitation details, and to light the ceremony area before guests fill it. Once guests arrive, those frames are gone.
| Time | What happens | Crew |
|---|---|---|
| 4:30 am | Crew call, decor and detail frames, lighting setup | Full crew |
| 5:15 am | Bride and groom getting ready, parallel coverage | 1 photographer each |
| 6:15 am | Baraat / welcome, guest candids | Photo + cinema |
| 7:00 am | Muhurtham rituals — no interruptions, no posed frames | Full crew |
| 8:15 am | Family portraits, group by group from a written list | Lead + assistant |
| 9:15 am | Couple portraits, quiet corner of the venue | Lead + cinematographer |
| 7:00 pm | Reception, stage coverage, guest greetings | Full crew |
How long do family portraits really take?
Family portraits take 45–60 minutes when you bring a written group list, and 2 hours when you don't.
Send us the list of groups a week before the wedding. We call groups by name, keep the queue moving and hand the couple back to their guests an hour sooner.
- Nominate one relative from each side to gather people — it halves the time
- Shoot the eldest relatives first so they can sit down
- Keep the list to 12–18 groups; more than that and guests start drifting
When is the best light for couple portraits in Bangalore?
The 45 minutes before sunset — roughly 5:45–6:30 pm through most of the year in Bengaluru.
If the reception starts at 7 pm, we take the couple out at 5:45 pm for 20 minutes. It is the single highest-return 20 minutes in the entire day, and it costs nothing extra.
What buffers stop a wedding timeline from collapsing?
Two buffers matter: 30 minutes before the muhurtham and 30 minutes before the reception entry.
Bengaluru traffic, late tailors and delayed priests are the three most common causes of overruns. Overtime beyond 10 hours is billed at ₹4,000 per hour per crew member, so buffers protect your budget as well as your day.

Questions Couples Ask
How many hours of wedding photography coverage do I need?
Most Bangalore single-day weddings need 10 hours to cover muhurtham through reception. A ceremony-only or reception-only wedding works comfortably in 5–6 hours.
Do you charge extra for pre-dawn call times?
No. Call times from 4:30 am are standard for Bengaluru muhurthams and are included in the day rate.
What happens if the wedding runs late?
We stay. Overtime beyond the contracted 10 hours is billed at ₹4,000 per hour per crew member and is always confirmed with you before the clock starts.
