    Best Photoshoot Places in Bangalore

Quick answer: The most reliable photoshoot locations in Bengaluru are Lalbagh, Cubbon Park, Bangalore Palace grounds, Nandi Hills, Hesaraghatta grasslands and the city's heritage streets. Public gardens require a paid permit; sunrise slots avoid both crowds and heat.

Bengaluru gives you tree canopy, colonial architecture, granite hills and a rapidly disappearing old city — all within ninety minutes of each other. What it also gives you is traffic, permits and crowds, so location choice is as much logistics as aesthetics.

    12 ideas that work

    1. 1

      Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Tree avenues, the lake edge and the glasshouse surroundings. Permit required. Go at opening time.

    2. 2

      Cubbon Park

Bamboo grove and the tree tunnels near the Attara Kacheri end. Permit required; Sundays are closed to traffic and busy.

    3. 3

      Bangalore Palace grounds

Tudor architecture, paid entry plus a shoot fee. Strongest option for a formal look.

    4. 4

      Nandi Hills

Sunrise above the cloud line. Leave the city by 4 am; expect crowds by 7.

    5. 5

      Hesaraghatta grasslands

Open horizon, no buildings. The best golden-hour location within an hour of the city.

    6. 6

Bangalore Fort & Tipu's Summer Palace

Old-city texture and dark timber. Small, so plan a short block here.

    7. 7

      Church Street & Brigade Road

Urban, graphic, best at first light before shops open.

    8. 8

      Ulsoor Lake steps

Water, steps and early-morning stillness. Very good for silhouettes.

    9. 9

      Devanahalli heritage properties

Courtyards and old walls, an hour out, quiet on weekdays.

    10. 10

      Jakkur or Hebbal lakeside

Reeds, water and open sky, close to north Bengaluru homes.

    11. 11

Your own terrace at blue hour

Underrated. City lights behind, no permits, no travel.

    12. 12

      Rented studio or villa

For maternity, newborn and product-style shoots where weather cannot be risked.

    Planning a Bengaluru location shoot

    • Pick two locations within twenty minutes of each other
    • Apply for garden permits at least a week ahead
    • Book the sunrise slot, not the afternoon
    • Scout the exact spot on Google Maps satellite view
    • Plan one outfit per location
    • Carry water, safety pins and a comb
    • Have a monsoon fallback — a covered or indoor option
    • Finish outdoor frames before 9 am or after 4.30 pm

    Permits: what you actually need

Lalbagh and Cubbon Park both charge for professional photography and will stop a shoot with lights, reflectors or a crew if you have not paid. Bangalore Palace charges separately for entry and photography. Nandi Hills and Hesaraghatta are open, but Nandi Hills has an entry fee and a queue on weekends. We arrange permits for shoots we cover.

    Weather and season

November to February is clear, cool and the best window of the year. March to May is harsh after 8 am. June to October brings the monsoon, which is not a reason to cancel — overcast light is soft and even, and wet streets photograph beautifully — but it does need an indoor fallback.

    Traffic is the real constraint

Two locations on opposite sides of Bengaluru will cost you the best light in the day. Group your locations by corridor: Lalbagh with Basavanagudi, Cubbon Park with the Palace and Church Street, Hebbal with Jakkur, Nandi Hills on its own.

    Frequently asked questions

Do you need permission for a photoshoot in Lalbagh or Cubbon Park?
Yes. Both require a paid photography permit for professional shoots, arranged in advance. Casual phone photography is fine; a photographer with a crew and equipment will be stopped without one.
Which is the best location for a pre-wedding shoot in Bangalore?
For greenery, Lalbagh at opening time. For architecture, Bangalore Palace grounds. For open sky and golden hour, Hesaraghatta. For sunrise drama, Nandi Hills. Most couples shoot two of these in a single day.
What is the best time of year for outdoor shoots in Bangalore?
November to February. The light is clear, the temperature is comfortable and the mornings are haze-free.
